I think there should be a Corvette glossary available here sometimes
I'm a bit new to the grand world of Corvette ownership, but catching on fast!
I'm still finding some things that I have to do a little digging on before I 'get it'
"Sawblades on an '84" EGADS, say it's no so, don't be cutting up our forefather c4. Oh, they're rims?? boy do I feel silly on this one
"If I had known what a PITA this was" hmmm...eating a sandwich contained by a piece of pocket bread doesn't seem bad,,,,oh, P I T A....hahaha, duh on me again.
of course, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, until I read the next post that is
any other newer (or veteran members) that remember anything amusing or that you just didn't get because of not being super well versed in "Vette-anese?"

All the different engine codes. I'm learning but the ones from 60's still confuse me at times.

I think The protecto-plate has something to do with the older cars. It is some sort of card that came with the car when new and list the car's VIN number and somehow helps prove the originality of the car or at leasts adds to the documention of the car. Sorry so vague I think I will go post on the C3 board and find out for sure, You guy's got me curious now.

Glossary starter
Here are some terms that can get your repertoire started.
Condial "con-dial" (as in the phone) A speedometer that is highly inaccurate caused by changing rear end ratios or extreme tire size changes.
Caudulla "caw-dulla" Any u-joint style flexi socket that is frozen rigid by rust. Frequently found in toolboxes whose owners have teenaged sons. Usually recovered from the lawn by the rotary vegetation mutilator/tool finder.
Knuten Valve "can-new-ton valve" Formerly called a schrader valve from the days when tire pressure was measured in PSI instead of KiloPascals.
Finnigan Fin 'fini-gan fin" The part of the car that projects into the airstream when you ride away without closing your gascap door.

How about 'open lid' I thought that either all these guys had a convertable or they just twisted the top off their bud. (or both) :D

WOT is my favorite. For the longest time I was totally lost on WOT. Although I still have not practiced WOT, I now understand the abbreviation ;) :D
