A Corvette is a great car for college if you can keep it running. My 93 spends more time in shops or awaiting money to fix it than it does on the road so he may want a bike as backup or go for something that you can cram 4-5 people for a road trip. My college cars were a 4 year old 67 GTO followed by a 4 year old 68 Charger. The cops loved me as we frequently met which is another consideration on owning a Vette.

I still think it is a bad choice for a year round northeast daily driver. and 2500 will get you much farther with a Honda than with a Corvette. Almost all parts interchange on a Honda. They are cheap and easy to fix if they even break at all. My 91 Honda Accord has been the most reliable trouble free car I have ever had. I have had it forever and it now has 230k on it and still runs smooth as silk. I already have a list of repairs for my 84 that will add up to more than I paid for the Accord and all repairs I have ever done to it.

This is a fair question if you've never experienced these cars. But, I'll confirm with everyone else that A $2,500 C4 is really going to be a handful... He'd have to give up girls and beer for a while...
