Anyone use "spray" car wax ?
All,
I'm looking for an easier way to wax our cars, instead of liquid car wax.
We have three cars --- two every day cars, and my 94 Corvette that is a part time drive - garage queen, is always clean.
Two of the cars are dark (Corvette is black, my wife's car is called Barcelona Red). I wax the cars an average of three times a year.
I see there are a lot of spray wax brands out there --- anyone use them ? I'm looking for something that is easier/faster to apply/take off, that is why I thought spray, I saw Mcguire's has a few. I want something that will last like my current liquid polish does where I can spray and be good for a few months with shine and protection.
Anyone use any spray car wax - what brand, how does it hold out in protection and shine compare to liquid ?
Thanks,
Bob

Actually, waxing 3 times a year is over kill. I use a detail wax by Adams in between waxing and only really wax the car once a year. To much wax can cause build up. I know some here may disagree, but as they say, the proof is in the pudding.

The last time I waxed my car a friend helped me. He said instead of wiping it off with a cloth, wash it off with more soap. So we did. It made it much easier as it as no rubbing and the car came out looking great.
Just a thought. I just use the spray stuff for touch ups or over the front after getting bugs off.

In my opinion, all Spray Waxes are the same.
I've used just about every brand out there (expensive to cheap) and have found little difference between them.
For my daily driven Vette, I use a dust mop and Adam's spray detailer (I buy it in a gallon jug) every morning. Once in awhile, I'll use a spray wax for a little more shine.

I'm no expert, but I wax once (maybe twice) a year with Armorall spray on. After the wash - I spray, rub in lightly with a good applicator pad, and remove with a good orbital buffer/pad. It seems to work for me.

PS: If you go to the car care forum, you will learn more than you will ever want to know about waxes, polishes, etc. Just be careful, some of those folks co a little if you dis their favorite product.

I used NXT TechWax 2.0 and it is smooth as buttah applying and removing.
For black, I just tried Turtle Wax "Black Detailer" (spray) and it was awesome! I got so many compliments how deep the black looked and it also had hat wet look. I can only imagine how much better it could get if I got some light swirl marks out. When I run out of waxes and polishes, I am going to try their "Black Box" too.
If you send me a PM with a cell phone, I can text you a few pics of the black from my Corvette driver seat, looking out the passenger seat in my garage. You can easily see the photos on my garage wall in the reflection, about 9 feet away.

I wax once a year and use detailer the rest of year. sometimes I don't wax each year. You can feel the car and tell if it needs waxed. If it's slick and smooth, you're good. If not, you need to wax.
I do know there was a member a couple years ago said he never did anything but use detail spray and his car looked good.
My guess is the spray on wax will be fine. With 4 cars I know I get tired of waxing myself.

Melting Slicks
I wax once a year, since the car is only driven June - Sept. In between waxing, I occasionally use Eagle-1 "Wax As You Dry". And of course, detailing spray as necessary. My finish is so slippery that even fingerprints slide off!

I've been using Eagle 1's "Wax As You Dry" on the Yukons and the CRV, while the garage queen gets Zaino.
The SUV's (particularly the Yukons) are so big, I just can't psych myself up to spend the time to "Zainoize" them. The Eagle 1 stuff seems to work fine, and since they are white, their finish is much more forgiving than the one in the garage, which is black.

Drifting
I've used Adams and Zaino waxes and their corresponding detail spray . They're supposed to be among the best. With that said, I was at the beach house for a few months and I went to the auto parts store and got some Meguiars wax and their detailing spray to keep it shiny. I couldn't tell any difference from the Adams, Zaino or Meguires. The detailing spray takes about 10 minutes to do after the car dries and really maintains the shine and protection.
It's one of those why not deals. 10 minutes for a super shine is worth it to me. It will keep your protection for a long time.

I'll use a spray and dry wax every other wash and a full on wax once a year. If the weather has been really bad (for example: sand storms, very hot, very cold, etc.) I'll do the clay bar.
