First Vette - Smiles from ear to ear...Engine pics added
Engine Pics Added...
It’s finally here. I posted in an earlier thread that I fell into this beautiful ’89 and it really is an outstanding car. I know the prior owner and it was truly pampered and kept out of the sun. I picked it up a couple weeks ago and here it now sits in MY garage. It is in absolutely top notch condition with just over 11K on the clock. It’s almost a shame to drive it, (not). Tires are new and I’ve replaced the battery and oil at this point. The next step is to have all of the other fluids serviced. AC is cold…the Bose hisses a bit, but otherwise no other issues. LCD is bright and every bit of documentation (sans window sticker) is included. Prior service records show it’s had all the injectors replaced, as well as MAF and alternator over its lifetime. All original, no mods, completely stock with cloth seats (really, who orders cloth in a vette?) The original owner actually ordered it this way.
It’s pretty much a base model with the addition of the 3.07 rear end, oil cooler, auto AC, auto trans and Bose, but other than that, pretty basic…but hey, it’s mine! Now I've got to split time with the HOG Here are some pics. Enjoy.
FRISBEE STILL THERE!

cloth seats!
Now the next person who makes fun of those "garage queens" we can officially slap them down! I love those guys! Yes I do.
How else can a person find an 89 vette with 11K on it? There are still C3s with less than 50K on them out there.

Congratulations on an excellent find! We've got an early C4 in the exact same color, but it's nowhere near the shape yours is in! You'll enjoy driving it, loving it and just plain enjoying it. Nothing like rolling in a Corvette, that's for sure!

Damn that's a sharp car! Congrats and enjoy. Don't be afraid to pile up the miles....that's what they were built for.
As for cloth seats, come visit me in the summer. We'll let Marco sit out in the sun for a couple of hours....oh....say between noon and 1400. Put on some shorts (you don't wear jeans here in the summer) and have a sit on those nice leather seats. Don't worry....we have a burn unit at the hospital here and they can graft skin from other parts of your body.
Change the rest of the fluids and get out and enjoy that car.

Thanks to all. It really is ridiculously clean, I've gone over and over it, even with the reading glasses on (showing my age here) and there are very few flaws...really, only unde the rocker panels where there is some expected road grime...most of which will probably come off with a good scrubbing. And, I'll bet most of that came from the 500 mile trip I had to take just to get her home.
Now I just have to resist the temptation to give that L98 some breathing room by opening up the intake and upgrading the exhaust. I'll wait on that and enjoy it how it is for now.

P.S: Post some engine pics...especially of the front. Don't see too many L98's with the "frisbee" still on the water pump pulley. Thanks for posting the pics!
