As long as you plan on upgrading the engine, transmission, fuel and engine management system etc etc. You can't lower the value anymore by doing this so..... Whatever floats your boat. It's only money.Or keep it stock and be happy with 200hp?

But at least it has round tail lights

Yep. And you can say the same thing about any C4 other than a ZR-1.

I don't really plan on upgrading the new crate motor in the car or the already built transmission. Where I live 200 hp is plenty to get you dead. I am more interested in upgrading the brakes at this point but first I need to get the interior and sound finished. This car will be will be unique once completed, dare I say a marvel to some and a joke to others. I could care less what dollar value one would attempt to assign to it. I'm judging from the number of people that slowed down or turned around just to get a second look when I parked it in the front yard, it will do okay on its own. Regardless what mine looks like its still a C4 and really fun to own and drive!

who cares. My 86 looks like hell, inside and out, has a huge trans front seal leak and I like driving it, period. An ugly, pos vette is still better than a good looking mustang in my book. Also, I like working on it. Hood up in the driveway, piddling around, keeps me sober and home and its a HOBBY,cant measure then fun ., enjoyment, satisfaction with money.

Yes. I bought a 96 GTS Viper instead. It's my wife's fault.

I wasn't talking about the tail lights. I was responding to the comment that I quoted, about upgrading the entire drivetrain.

Got the carpet, door panels, and seats in just in time to take a drive today....Man what a pain..
On the way home needed the head lights and they wouldn't come out and play. Gotta love this old stuff.

Just have to get the console carpet glued down and on to the next. I bought windshield adhesive for that, hope I didn't blunder.
