This is part of an aftermarket reproduction kit included on a Callaway Speedster, so unless you own a Callaway speedster you do not have a wing installed from the factory.
The Gods don't really care.
Let me change my statement;
Ya gotta love Trolls.
So last night when you started in on my 81, how did you know I had one? Especially since you have never visited my profile and I never mentioned it in the thread.
Just curious..............

I never implied it was an RPO part number.Just the reason Chevy had it made and the reason it had to be dealer installed or available over the counter option.They raced the body style and that particular race was for factory cars only.

Chevrolet did in fact offer a dealer installed GTO full body kit but as stated no spoiler was ever offered from the factory.So the dealer installed kit was as close as it got.Now,From what I remember this kit was made specifically for G.M. and not something that was cobbled together,its been 20+ years so Im not too clear on that anymore,it actually looked alright.The kit consisted of a front chin spoiler,4 slot fender panels,rocker panels and I think a lower panel on the rear bumper.I had the spoiler for years and tried selling it for almost the same amount of time.I just sold it maybe 2 months ago for next to nothing.[IMG][/IMG]

Steve - that is a sweet looking car. It will truly stand out among any group of Corvettes. I'll bet if you ever took it to Corvettes at Carlisle or Funfest that it would garner a celebrity pick.

It is no different than the Callaway Speedsters. I have heard stories of those being sold at dealerships when new. The fact that they were sold new at Chevrolet dealerships doesn't make it a factory option. On the other hand, the B2K Callaways were indeed a factory option, hence the RPO. See how this works?
On the only documentation that I have ever seen for a Speedster, the aerobody, etc were all listed as add-ons andwere not covered in the RPO. Even if the work is done by the same person at the same time this separates these options from the B2K package by definition. The RPO takes it to the level of the "base" B2K. Anything more than that is technically aftermarket.
Unless there is an RPO for the aerobody that I missed somewhere...
In hindsight the Callaway cars are probably a bad example of what I was trying to say since it is more of a technicality but the simple fact remains that no RPO = not a factory option. Period.
