OOPS..! It's actually a '93... Speedometer works on and off.. One of the first things I'm going to do is clean the VSS connector...But I need to locate it.. Pic would be a great help..

I have been having the same issue I have seen on other threads. The speedometer will occasionally stop working and read 0. At the same time the check engine light may flash and the ASR light comes on. The car hesitates during this event. based on other thr3eads it seems like this is a VSS issue. I have also checked the mph on ac display by working the fan up/down button. When the mph starts to read 0 on the normal display it also reads 0 on the AC display. So again based on other posts it appears to be the VSS or the connectors from the VSS. Or I suppose it could be the gears in the VSS. Does this sound correct?

I also need help locating the VSS. From other posts I believe it is on top of the trans near the back drive shaft. I don't have a lift so I need to jack the car up to get at it. Do i jack \up the rear drivers side and come in that direction?

It on the passenger side of transmission extension housing. It uses a speedometer a replaceable gear to spin sensor shaft and generate AC signal.
