Best weatherstripping for the dollar.
I need to replace my weatherstripping on my 87. The one that is on the windshield and the back one that the targa tops sits on.
Who makes the best for the buck. I cant afford the GM ones, those are way to expensive.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.

The most recommended is Lonestar and Willcox. Willcox is a harder rubber than OEM latex. Lonestar offers both latex and rubber. Latex is what the OEM used.
I'd like to find a good hatch weatherstripping that is made right and doesn't split in a few months.

Here's an unsolicited tip too....Carb cleaner does wonders for removing the old adhesive....just use caution to keep it off of painted surfaces. On the B pillar, I just removed the channel from the car and soaked it in carb cleaner....came off very easily.
I didn't use any adhesive on the A or B pillars. Been fine for a year now, and I can remove it easily if I ever need to.

I'm also considering replacing my weatherstripping on my 96. Not sure what I need to get looking at this page:

The only part of the existing weatherstripping that is bad are the doors. The rear and the top still look good with no cracks.

I recommend using 3M's Adhesive Remover rather than carburetor cleaner. Probably about the same price and I had not problem with the adhesive remover damaging the paint on a friend's '88 on which I just finished a carpet replacement.
