cessna10,
Absolutely, plus you get the benifit of better breaking. Just don't get the cheaper than stock (NAPA) rotors, on some cars I have heard of the rotors warping. But that just may be the rotors. I have ceramic's on my '10 Camaro and they work great, with very little dust. I put them on my '91 and no real dust yet after about 500 miles, 40 of them on the auto cross track.
Go for the ceramic, Polo

Friz,
On the '91 I have stock GM rotors and hawk pads. The rotors had about 5 to 10k on them but were in excellent shape, I put the pads on in early March. The Camaro has stock bremo's.

Sounds like I need to change to the Hawk pads.

I went with the cheapies on my Charger R/T. (Duralast semi=metalic)
I hate them. Not too good for stopping, make noise, and lots and lots of brake dust. Even though I have had them for just a few hundred miles I am going to swap them out for some ceramics.
This was a good thread. It is confirming my opinions and my plans to replace the pads.

just a little info, take the pads back to autozone, tell them you want a warranty return and would like to upgrade to ceramic pads. you will get full credit on what you paid for semi metalic pads towards ceramic ones. They can do that

You guys should look at this pad, Carbotech Bobcat 1521 compound is a low dusting performance street pad.
The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Adam....great info. Looking on your website, the only rotors you show for C4 are "heavy duty suspension". I'm assuming that is Z51, correct? I didn't know they used a different rotor. If that's the case, do you carry the non-Z51 rotors?
The 1521 looks like a great pad.

I would recommend ceramic pads. I have them on my 87 and think they work great, with the only downside being they squeak at low speeds. I only really notice it while pulling out of the garage though.
