2000 c5 to 1985 c4 wheel interchange?
I have a 1985 c4 and i have a chance to buy some 5 spoke factory wheels from a guy that has a 2000 c5.I would like to know if the wheels and tires will interchange without modification. If there is a modification what would it be?I would really appreciate some help on this.
Thanks,James

The lug nut spacing on the wheels will be the same. The difference is the offset on the 2000 wheels. You will probably have to buy 1" wheel adapters to have them fit correctly. The problem is really the front end. Without the adapter spacing the wheel 1" out, the tire will rub.

I know this is an old post but it took me a long time to find out what I really needed to get this job done. I never cared for the original early c4 rims and had a chance to buy some nice y2k rims and tires for a great price. I always have liked them, but found out that indeed, on an early c4 (84-87) you have to use adapters to change the offset. I did bolt the rims on without them, and the car did roll fine, but when I hit a bump, the rear tires would rub something on the inside wheel well. The difference in offset really made the rims look crappy until I got the adapters on.
I searched everywhere and everyone had different ideas of what thickness should be used. I came across your reply and nicely enough you responded to a PM. I went with the hub and rim centric 1 inch in the front and 1.25 in the back and you were right on. Looks perfect! TYVM USMC_BUTLER!!

I went with the 1.25 adapters too. Late C4 wheels are similar offsets to C5's. I used a 1.25 on the front too. It works for the 8.5" wide, but it would be too much for the 9.5" fronts. The 0.75 front would work better.
Yes it is possible.
