Default What are stock 1990 saw blade wheels worth?

Hey everyone, I am thinking about selling my stock tires & wheels off of my 1990 Z51 Coupe. It has 17/40/275's all the way around, I believe all the wheels are 17"x9.5". The car has the stock sawblade wheels. I don't know if the wheels are an upgrade but most of the pics I see of cars the wheels are plain aluminum including inside the blade cuts. My wheels are polished pretty much to a chrome finish and the cutouts are painted black inside. I actually like them better than the plain ones but still want to change to 18" wheels & tires. I can take some pictures but someone is going to have to tell me how I post them in a message. I have a picture of the car that you can kind of see them in my "garage". While I am at it can you fit 18/35/285's on my car. I plan on lowering it soon, already bought the kit, other than that the car is stock as far as the suspension goes. Any info on offsets or rim width that I would need would be greatly appreciated. I can measure my existing wheels if you tell me what you need. I am new to this Corvette stuff, only have had the car a couple of weeks. Really like it!!! I think my Mustang is going to get jealous! LOL

I bought a set of off craigslist last year (just like yours, polished with black inserts) for $150. They do need a good cleaning and a couple have a some minor curb rash, but otherwise in good shape. If yours are real clean & ready to bolt on you can probably get $200 for them. If the tires are still good and you're selling those as well maybe $300-$350 depending on the condition and age of the tires.

Of course all this assumes the your market is similar to that of Phoenix, AZ. Here, you can log into craigslist on almost any given day (certainly any given week) and find a set of 17" C4 wheels for sale.

I'ld keep em. But to answer your question a couple hundred bucks most likely is all I would pay for them. If they were like new and I wanted them I would go to 400 maybe 500

Wheels are expensive.

it's a one year only wheel, But I don't know of to many people trying to "restore" these cars.

I took my 90 wheels off because they had bad curb rash and one was slightly bent. I bought some later model wheels that had been chromed and were perfect for $200.00.

I´d buy them right away, but shipping to Germany would be quite expensive...

I would think that based upon the condition you described between $200 to $250 for the set...

The 1990 wheels were probably the best looking wheel they had on the C4, and the 89 were nice as well.

today they may not be worth a whole bunch, but give it another ten years and they won't be a through away item either.

Do what you must

They're not "sawblades", the 89 90 wheels are sometimes referred to as "salad shooters". Anyway, I sold a set of sawblades off my 93 for $250 + shipping a few months ago. As someone said, if the tires are good you might get more for them but keep in mind the weight of the tires will probably double the shipping costs.

Thanks everyone. Yeah I figured out they are not what everyone calls "sawblades" after I posted the message. How do you guys insert a picture into these posts? I have a pic of the car and the wheels but haven't figured out how to slip it into a post......I see the insert an image but then it wants a link....does that mean the pic has to be saved on a website somewhere first?????

In the northeast and mid-atlantic States around $50 to $75 per wheel, provided they are in very good to excellent condition.

I bought a set about 4 years ago and put them on an 88. When I sold the 88 I kept the wheels and put them on my 94.

I have heard they will clear the brakes on a C5, but I haven't tried them on my FRC yet.

I got new wheels for my `90 & wound up selling my "stock" (they were chromed & the rears were widened to 11") for $150.00
