in today's dollars? We all have a general idea of the current values of these cars, but just for fun what would the retail prices be if our window stickers were adjusted for inflation? Since the "middle" year of production would be close to 1990, can we use that as a central point to base it on and what would be the multiplier to get an idea of the sticker price today? My 94 listed at $39,469.00 so it'd be interesting to see if our vettes would offer a better "value" than the new 2010's in terms of pricing. Of course the C6's are the latest and some feel the greatest, but dollar for dollar (after adjustment) it'd be fun to know if our cars when new were a better deal than todays offerings.

Well I can get a 2011 coupe for $43,500.

I think the new cars are the better dollar value, I recall back in the early '90 new corvettes were very expensive.

There was an article in the Corvette Restorer on just this topic (although it addressed all Corvette years). The article was written 2 years ago so prices have then changed a little, although there has been very little inflation in the past two years.

Some C4 facts from that article:

. The 1988 Corvette was the most expensive base Corvette ever. In 2008 terms, it was adjusted to be $61K for the coupe and $69K for the convertible. The most expensive Corvette of all was the 88 Callaway convertible at $116K (note this article was written just before the new ZR1 was launched). The 91 ZR-1 topped the C4 ZR-1 scales at just over $100K. Lease expensive C4 was the 84 at about $52K in today's (2008) funds.

This all sounds about right.

I like using the price of a house to determine value. Even though Cali prices have crashed, our house is still worth double what it was in 1992.

My car sticker is almost $45k for a Vert w/ hard top- in todays market that would equal $90k.

I just check a table that calculates the value of a 1994 $ to a 2010 $. Results show $1.00 in 1994 would now be valued at $1.48.

Based on that your $39,469 '94 model would cost $58,414 in 2010 $$'s

Looks like Kerbeck has some good prices.
