You ARE a newbie! ANY Vette offered for sale, no matter how nice and how cheap, is ALWAYS overpriced according to the answers you get here!

Joking aside, got any pics to help us judge?

sounds like a more than fair deal. I would drive it and look it over real good. With the miles, it's worth it. I would go for it.

Take it for a drive and decide, if it drives and handles like it looks--buy it. price sounds good to me, depends on your location though, winters around the corner.

They didn't make a ruby red with white interior,so that leaves dark red or black rose. All 93's are 40th anniversary models, All ones with the leather interiors have it embroideried in the headrest. It sounds like the owner went emblem shopping on Ebay. As far as value, it sounds like a fair deal.

I agree Fred...

Doubtful it is a Ruby with white... Maybe Dark Red Metallic and white interior?

DRM with white is a rare color anyway!

Pictures please!

Looks like a nice car. Dark Red Metallic not Ruby but nice. If it drives good, buy it! BUY IT! BUY IT! The price is good.

Never seen that color combo before was it offered?

Anyway if the car is that sound and clean might just be worth it. Sure theres 93s for less but you end up dumping more in them to be sound in the end.

Make sure you take a refrigerator magnet or "bondo" magnet with you when looking the car over. You'd hate to find out after the purchase what might lurk under the paint.

It appears very nice from the few photos. The price looks very reasonable too. You may be able to negotiate a few dollars off if my observation is correct that the tires look worn. Tires are not cheap and I would recommend replacing them if they are near worn. Whenever I buy a new sports car, I like to put on new tires to really enjoy the handling capabilities. Also, you may want to put a few hundred dollars to the side to deal with unexpected issues. There usually is something lurking in any 18 year old C4. Here are a few documents to review:

Click here for a pre-purchase document

Take it for a drive and if possible, have a mechanic familiar with Corvettes inspect it and put it up on a lift. Being cautious can pay huge dividends when buying any sports car. There is quite a bit to look for and many times a first time buyer misses some issues that can be expensive to remedy.

Best of luck,

John
