Sorry, but it's a Pain in the butt. Now I have to buy new / used ones?

I laughed out loud when I read this. Yeah, they're all like this. Any used ones will be just like yours. Get new ones.

It's not just C4's. A lot of cars do it. They score the cardboard liner from the factory so it will bend and fit tight against the roof. Eventually it tears along the score, and the end flops loose. If it isn't to bad, you can fix them with a dip stick! Cut the dipstick so it fits inside the visor (about 1"-2" shorter than the visor. Now take a razer blade and cut one of the threads on the outside of the visor (inside the seam) so as to just let the metal piece slide between the two pieces of cardboard inside of the sun visor (it's actually a piece of cardboard that was folded over to give it a double thickness for strength and then scored on one end. Push the metal piece untill it just clears the threads on the side. this should lock it in so it doesn't slide back, and it should slide around the mirror on the top or bottom. If need be put one metal peice on to and on on the bottom.

Drain it into a five quart container, fill to brim with extra oil, re-install in car!

Default Easy fix

Take a tupperware lid, cut a strip from it about 1 and 1/2 inches wide and 11 and 1/4 inches long. Carefully slide the cut lid behind the visor vanity mirror working it into the floppy ear end of the visor. Mine have held for four or five years. I tried cut pieces of mini blind - the vinyl is too flexible and the metal ones bend too easily. Some people use paint stir sticks, rulers, etc. The tupperwear is flexible, but will not break. I rounded the ends off so it wouldn't tear the visor material.

Buy a pack of rulers at the dollar store (3 in a pack). Slide one of those bad boys behind each mirror on the visor and you got yourself a cheap fix.

I took my sun visors off entirely - they were getting so ratty looking from all the wind beating them up. I don't miss them a bit and it looks much cleaner without them with the top off. A ball cap works better, anyway, when the sun's low.

You can always tuck them when up, but I like having them flap in the wind kind of like wings

I have to lean down to use them, or have them hit me in the forehead. With the top on I'd only see hood past them. Tempted to remove them.
