Battery for key fob
I cannot find a battery to replace the old one in the key fob. The local GM dealer didn't have one and I have checked a few places. It's a Sanyo CR2450. It has a recessed lip around the outside which is important as another replacement battery without that recessed lip would not fit. Help!

Shawn, Lowe's or Home Depot generally have all the "CR" series batteries. I've found the correct one for my 96 and for my Grand Cherokee FOB's at one or the other.

I had one FOB where inside the case where the "button" makes contact, the very small solder connections of the mechanism were broken causing intermittent function.

Radio Shack struck out. They had the right number but didn't have that little bevel around the (+) side of the battery. No fit. Sent me to a batteries place but was closed. Sigh. Keep looking.

Try this site: http://www.tnrtechnical.com/ . It's the only place I found that has the original Sanyo battery with the bevel.

Battery doesn't fit 94 Key FOB
Ok simple cheap fix. We all know the key fob back then has a dl2450 sanyo battery with a lip to fit under clip. They do not make them anymore, so what I did was take my Dremmel and grind a low spot where each clip holds. Wellah! fits perfectly. Cost me nothing. ENJOY!
