Default For those concerned about jacking the C4 up...

Anyone who is concerned about jacking the car up, with crazy superstitions such as open the hood, hatch, doors, leave them closed, targa off, targa on...

Or those who say the C4 isn't rigid...

I'm not buying it. Photo Evidence!

Notice how all 4 wheels are within about an inch of being equally off of the ground. But the right rear side doesn't have a jack stand under it. I raised the car one corner at a time and the last corner came up with it.

So I say skip the myths...jack it up by anything solid and put jackstands under anything solid.

And I DID try to operate the hood, doors, and hatch with the car like that to see how much flex there was. Every moving body part operated as if it were sitting on level ground.

Oh yes....the ol' tripod stance. I have to admit that the first time I had my car on 4 stands and could see daylight between one stand and the frame, it was a little unnerving....but after you get used to it, it's kinda cool.

The C4 is one rigid piece. Jack it with no worries.

Good idea. Print this pic out and the next time some grease monkey starts in that he has to pop the hood etc.....show him the evidence. The look on his face should be priceless.

This was done with the top on. Low and behold, it didn't break!

Just put my painted top on after driving 8 months with the glass one, The car seems to be more solid and less noise from the whole car. IMO the glass top has more flex

I figured this a while ago when I jacked up the driver's side front and the rear also came up.

He's right. You would't want to get your shirt dirty when crawing under the car, right?
