reccomend tires/wheels for SCCA road course
I'm thinking about setting up my 85 coupe for off road racing only. Of course, I would be new at it. I have read articals about setting up the suspension and roll bars etc. but I can find nothing to shed any light on the sizes or types of tire/wheel package favored at SCCA events. Can anyone out there give me the benefit of their experience with this type of racing?

Try the road racing section they will give you unlimited information.
You'll need good brakes, brake coolers would help, new fluids, the stock size tire works fine as long as they are a decent tire.

The GS/ZR1 amolds work great and are very popular. The OEM versions are the lightest and the most recommended, of course they are quite expensive. I assume you are starting off with HPDE's? If so, a good street tire works great. There is a great thread on tires in the racing forum. Personally, I like the Michelin PS2, but again are very pricey but they've got excellent grip rain or shine. I tired to find that tire thread, but to no avail with my quick search. I'm pretty sure it's in the new to roadracing/autocross thread.
