Well, it's OFFICIAL...new job and look at the company car I took home tonight!
Just officially hired as Chief Operations Officer of AlanAutosports! After many weeks of negotiation and discussion, I'm in! After wrapping up the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, they sat me down and said "your in". So, after a dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate, the owner let me take one of the prototypes home to surprise the wife.
AlanAutosports is a company based south of Pittsburgh that builds the made to order GT Malan Supercar. Our (and I can say "our" now) first prototype will be on the Speed August 12th in Battle of the Supercars. I've been brought on in time to oversee construction of the new manufacturing facility and the infancy of the future racing program. See you at SEMA this year if anyone is going, because after years of dreaming I'll be there!
Had to gas her up and take a quick pic!
550chp LS2 (dyno proven), Porsche Getrag transmission, 2320lb (no driver)
11.0 1/4 mile (traction limited), 0-60 3.2 seconds, 1.06g skidpad, 190mph...this is the slowest of the three prototypes. The one featured on Speed did 218mph.

Hit it through first and second, my wife said she couldn't breathe and felt like her heart was pressed against her back...lol. This coming from a woman that has ridden in many cars I've built over the years. She doesn't scare easily...lol.
What's that opinion about import builders again Hokies???

I'm just happy to achieve a position I worked very hard to get in life. Not bragging, just sharing. Pictures really don't do this car justice. For the price we can deliver these coupled with the performance figures, it's hard to pass. Plus it uses a Corvette engine...what's not to like!! Based on the attention I got everywhere I went, the general response is very positive.
You certainly have a right to your opinion...everyone isn't blown away by the car, but a very many certainly are. We're doing a promotional video right now...I'll post later when it's complete. Maybe it'll change your mind.

Glad you got a nice job, that is certainly a gift these days. Wish you the best of luck in that aspect.

No question about that. Since closing my business last year, things haven't been fun. I really found myself in a state that I haven't been for years...confused. So many years in business and then that was it. I was SO lucky to come across this opportunity that it's just absolutely exciting...which is why I posted.
Like I said, no bragging here (well except maybe to Hokies for always busting my ***** about my businesses function with Honda's and Mitsubishi's)....just sharing the experience and my happiness over the end of tough times...it is just getting me antsy!!!!! My wife and I look forward to recovery, paying off debts and getting life back in order!

Congratulations! We are in some tough times thats for sure! The car is definitely going to take some getting used to visually but the specs sure sound awesome! Those wheels dont seem to do it justice in my opinion.

I fail to see any bragging done, excitement? yes, Relief?, yes. but no bragging. After the setback you experienced you have a right to do a little crowing about your good fortune of finding an excellent position. I am always happy to see someone get a break like this because I have been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it.

Congratulations on the new job and the awesome company car! Usually people are issued a ford focus or something.
I don't see your post as bragging and even if I did, go for it man. When you're out of work for a while and then land a gig this sweet, you can brag.
