The stock setup has the HU and tuner as separate items.
So the speaker wires/antenna/etc do not go to the HU.
If you remove the tuner, then you'll need to jumper or run other wires like ignition, 12V, lighting control/etc. If its bose, then the speakers are 2 ohm. The schematic diagram from the service manual helps alot here!
Would buying from Crutchfield be any help?

Its awesome! Makes the car look good!
Plus the background is whatever jpeg I want it to be!
Now it is a corvette racing logo.

Enjoy...

Are you going to get the add on navigation and rear view camera?

I didn't use the harness so I'm not sure.

I have an amp under the passenger seat, so I ran RCA to the amp from the HU.

Yes, I added a switch for the antenna control. Most of the time is down.

Nah, "I dont need no stinking navigation"....
Nah, "I dont need no stinking rear camera"....

I'm not really interested in paying for navigation and I don't see the need for a rear camara in the vette.

Wow - that looks nice. Dumping the Bose was a move I recently made also.

Default Pioneer DVD

Did you do, or have done the installation? It looks very cool and considering the Bose in my 90 is going out and doesn't sound very good this might just be the replacement.
Did you change the speakers and or any modifications? Any input you can provide would be appreciated.
Great looking.

Yes, I did the install.
I also had the bose HU, this upgrade was a big improvement.
Speakers are also updated.

Ok, I'll find my install notes and try to post them when I get a chance...

How did you get an amp under the seat?? I have a 94 with power std seats and there isn't much under there. The front crossovers barely fit !

Looks fantastic. Wish I'd gone that route instead of the all digital apline I put in (no cd). It's just awkward to use.

ill be looking to upgrade my radio soon.

Flamered90 had a kenwood model that actually had a volume ****. His unit also had GPS unit integrated, bluetooth, and could add-on a satellite radio.

I like the idea of a volume **** vs. a +/- toggle switch.

One big issue with aftermarket radio's is 'boot-up' time.

IMHO a radio should turn on the instant I push the power button. Not boot up like dumb **** WINDOWS on my PC.
