Default Pic of my new 84 Vette

OK everyone, I finally have some pictures to post. I still need to go and wash it, vacuum it out and then way it up good, but this will give you a pretty good idea. My buddy Mike helped me out today with finding some of the rattles and it's pretty smooth and quiet now. All the new Comp T/A's are on and it rides a lot smoother. We changhed out as much of the power steering fluid as possible (2 quarts), but it still looks like grey paint in there. I thnk I'm gonna hit up a Jiffy Lube or someplace like that to have them flush it - otherwise I'll just put a Z51 rack into it and replace the pump and lines.

Overall, I think I did pretty damn good for $1900

Yep, I'm happier with it each time I drive it. It's amazing how quiet it is considering it has NO mufflers. And it's certainly no slouch either - it gets up and moves nicely.

I've never seen a quiet car with no mufflers! Are you planning to put a catback system on? I think I am going to put a Corsa on mine someday.

The car looks great BTW.... You done good!

Yeah, I'm definitely putting mufflers on it - deciding which ones this week. I'd like to do Flowmasters, but I'd also like something with better looking tips than what comes on the direct replacement mufflers. They do offer a set with polished stainless tips, but they're still just plain, round pencil tips - boring!

It's got a good burble to it and it drones a little at very low engine speed but on the freeway at cruise and even revving it hard, it's perfectly acceptable.

I'd say for 1900 bucks you didn't get a good deal...you stole it! Well Done!

astepup said that

Here are some oval polished Magnaflow tips. IMO, a definite upgrade over cookie-cutter round-tips.

They're a little dirty in this close up.

It looks like that Corvette found a good owner.

Fixing it up should be fun.

I am still amazed there are people out there than think these cars are of less value than a fox platform Mustang. You got a great deal . Only in America can the dream become afforadable and I guess that pretty neat thing about this Country.

Looks like you got a great deal! Do what you can within your budget but look out for the "While I am in there"because that can cost you some serious money!! Its kinda like "I hafta change my valve cover gaskets" While I am in there well, lets get some new valve covers.....OK well maybe some new AFR heads........Gotta have a cam to make those heads work right.....That 383 might be a good thing to have......on and on, lol.

Its a labor of love and if your gonna keep the 84 for a while, go ahead and build it like yo want to. Just get ready for the "Corvette Tax"

great deal when you consider if you had to buy just the targa top used 400 - $500, you got the whole car for 1900. yeah you did good.
