Have you ever lost your C4
I just finished watching a video many of you all know and hate about the C4 sucking by Englishmen Jeremary Clarkson. In it he claims the Corvette spins so easily you can park it out side a store and it will turn itself around. So I have to ask. Have you found your self on the other side of the road on a fast turn ? Have you owned or driven a sports car of simular vintage as your C4 and did you find it held the road better. Is the C4 as dangerous and Mr. Clarkson claims?

All I can say is yes, I have spun the car, and it's pretty easy to do.
Don't know about other cars of C4 vintage.
The C4 is not unsafe, but it does require you have a bit of a brain, and some skill.

I lose it all the time in parking lots. Cars are so damn large these days, my C4 tucks in between them and hides down low. I can't tell you how many times I've walked out to the lot to start thinking it was jacked only to find it crouching below some SUV or whatever.
Oh wait... 315's on the back and the softer base spring with the bosch stability gizmo working the engine power and rear brakes make it hard to lose it.

not yet.....but I did lose the "fabulously handling" RX7 in a turn.
Once the rear broke loose...I was just a passenger in that case.
The Vette has broken loose in the rear in corners...but it was all predictable and easily re-gained once the fun was over.

Hmmm...
Yes, I lost my 92 Vert. My ex-F-wife was so jealous of it that burnt it. She kept saying that it wasn't her. I hope someday, she burns and lives to tell how it feels to be caught in a fire.
The Vert burnt to the ground.
The Vert and ex are both gone.

I lost it in the rain with my new tires (not fun and I was Very Very Lucky)... With my old tires, I could only lose it when I floored it with the steering wheel locked!!! They gripped amazingly in the dry and just as good wet!!

I've been around the block a time or two. Never expected, usually with the wheels turned, sometimes on a wet road a few times in autocross. I guess that's more than a time or two. Yup, when you push them they can break loose.

To summarize the infamous MR. Clarkson's rant about C4 handling.. oh look heres a 2 seat sports car built by the "colonials" lets go for a ham fisted drive!!
Surprise!! its not an MG or a mini its a full on V-8 with some serious torque and it bit him in the shorts, he bitched about the same thing with the callaway.. oh see look If I hammer the throttle coming out of a turn it will spin out.. Ya think?? thats why they call it "modulating" the throttle.
I find that show amusing, not terribly enlightening but amusing. they had another show on the C4 where he buys a hi miles clapped out C4 to turn for a profit.. spends the whole show comment on "dodgy American electrics"!! really? this form a country that hosts the Prince of Darkness?? (Lucas electrical systems are WORLD famous for leaving you in the dark and walking.)
Have I Spun my C4? yea, how do you know where the limits of a car until you have? Have I spun my Mini S? yep smae thing with formula fords.. Will I get adrenalined up and spin them again..probably, Some smart guy will push me hard into a corner and Ill cook it and spin (that is assuming the price of racing doesnt keep going up and I can still afford to go!)..

Nope, I don't drive that way. Parking lots, for a minute. But, I have
dreams were I misplace it, or it gets stolen. And they're so real, I wake
up in a panic, only to find that it was a nightmare of a dream.

You're not supposed to take Top Gear seriously..it's just for entertainment.
But my answer is no, but close. When the car does the 1-2 shift in a turn when it's wet, the rears will break loose and I have to catch it. Catches you off guard if you take a corner too fast.

Yes, I have had the back end come up front to see where we were going rather than where we had been. Poor headlights, large box in the middle of the road, quick steer on hard tires and away we went. I'll take full blame. Funny thing, was only going 30 mph.

Classic case of "Corvette Envy", on a nation-wide scale!!

With the tires that came on my '91, if there was rain in the forecast, it would break loose very easy, especially so launching on curves.
Never "lost" it on the street. However...
Lime rock...X2
Summit Point Yup,
NJMP Lightning...oh yeah! T6 will bite you in the a$$ if you don't hit it right
