Welcome to the forum. The main thing is getting the vette in the first place. There really isn't anything that can't be fixed or modified on them. If the cars were all pristine some of us couldn't afford to buy one, me included. Have fun and enjoy.

It doesn't look that bad at all. Trust me, I've seen worse! Welcome to the family! Enjoy your new Vette!

I thank you all for the welcome.
As I have previously posted the car belonged to my Dad up until a few months ago. He asked me to help him sort out some problems. I am admittedly no mechanic. He's my Dad so why not. I think he saw how much I was enjoying tinkering so he called me up after my having it for about a month and said he was mailing the pink slip. He wanted me to have it.
He had purchased it two years ago from a neighbor who let it sit in a driveway for few years. Other than regular oil changes and tune-up before it's driveway retirement this neighbor apparently did not take great care in much else about the car.
It's a 1986 with currently 117000 on the clock. I just had the computer replaced. I replaced the TPS and IAC along with a thorough cleaning of the throttle body. Good advice from this forum.
She needs rear shocks, and keeps blowing the courtesy/radio fuse (15).
Right headlight needs my assistance to properly spin completely over.
Those are my immediate projects. Front brakes shake while under braking. So new rotors and brakes are also next. Along with new fluid and new brake lines.
So far having a lot of fun and even got a Corvette wave the other day from another C4!
My other cars are a 1999 BMW 750iL (E38)
and a 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Don't sweat a faded Vette! The early C4's are infamous for fading and all of us know that. In fact, we were cruising Sunset Blvd last Saturday in Hollywood in the 87' blue one, which has mild fading on the rear deck and pulled up next to another early C4 with a couple o' small primer spots in otherwise shiny black paint. We both gave the wave and all was good!
Shocks are easy replacement and you'll be surprised at how well the car handles and drives afterwards. Also, do a chassis lube while you're at it. My 95' got it a month ago and now have to do the 87'.
Welcome aboard!

Looks like mine was when i got it...
I got it the same way from my dad it sit in the garage for 9 = 11 years
under a cover but it is very humid here and well the dust had turned into a paste...
I washed it afew times then sprayed it down with bug&tar remover ...
Then washed it again then waxxed it now she looks great!
The inside was the same... and the motor had not been cleaned in 23 years...
well about 2 to 3 months and i had her just about show ready!
