A friend of mine used to spray the wells down with WD40...worked great...I just use tire foam.
I WD-40 mine, put it on, wait about 10 minutes, wipe it off and finish with pledge... WD desolves the stuck on tar... :yesnod:

been using tire foam on plastic wheel wells for years, don't use on tires tho.

I use armor all. Lasts longer then tire shine products.

I took djpearn's advice...I tried the Truck Bed Spray Liner; bought a can at NAPA. Outstanding! It's better than the undercarriage spray I previously put on there (spent 4 hours removing :rolleyes:) This truck liner is not rubberized, will be easy to clean, and looks good.

I'm tempted to try the stuff in Griot's Garage though.
Hmmmm...I think I'm putting way to much emphasis on the fender wells! :D
