I am driving my 91 to work (only 4 mile drive) about 3 times a week. I spend all day worrying about door dings and try to park as far back as possible, but it never fails that some piece of junk with big door always parks next to me. My wife says I just need to drive it and not worry about it, but was wondering what you guys think?

The first six years, very worried, now....not very. Some years ago, I parked in the back of most parking lots, now....anywhere. Once you get over 150,000 miles on her, its just great transportation.

I don't have any, "guys", but personally I don't like door dings or any other kind of dings.

Doesnt ding as easy as metal and the strip helps.
Listen to your wife (that was hard to say ) and drive it.

I worry about them constantly with all of my vehicles. Nothing sets me off faster than to see a ding or the potential for one.

You've never known anyone whos died from this horrible disease (Aids), otherwise you would have never made this ridiculous comment.

Besides, wishing someone to get Cancer AND die from Aids at the same time is beyond my comprehension.

I understand all you wanted to do is stress how much door dings **** you off...but claiming you want someone to get cancer and die from Aids pisses ME off.

These cars are meant to be driven...it's going to happen sooner or later, just drive and enjoy it. I was pissed at the first one, but the black wax covered to right up...enjoy it and don't sweat the small stuff

Door Dings are aggravating, but a fact of life sadly.. now the ones that **** me off are the slob that gets out and bashs into your car WHILE YOUR IN IT.. then just walks away like nothing happened. not even acknowledgement. or and this one just stunned me speechless, Im waiting to get out of the car to let a lady next to me get her kid strapped in and out of the way..and she hangs the diaper bag On MY MIRROR ! after thanking me for being patient while she "figures out the car seat"

I just get tired of the idiots who see a nice car and purposely screw with it. Like when you park way out and someone has to park right on top of you with a POS. If there is damage sometimes his door get accidentally caved in - I hate when that twitch happens in my foot.

I try to park my car away from everyone, doesn't always work. When I see a nice car I will park next to it and protect it from idiots. Unfortunately the car's owner will think the worst and inspect for dings.

As far as the original question, i had some dings on the side strip (note: mine is the same color as the body), for about $100 i had them color matched and painted by a pro. I watch where i park for the most part.
