Carpet thieves, no kidding
Well, I doubt they were after my carpet, but they took some with them anyway.
My dumbarse left the '92 unlocked overnight and someone got in and ripped out the stereo and my front left speaker, along with the carpet panel it was connected to.
Any ideas on where to find an inexpensive replacement for this kick panel? Not sure if I can snap in a new speaker panel or if I will have to replace the entire door panel.
They weren't even nice speakers...
Here's the front right speaker they didn't touch (I guess they like to listen in mono):
Here's the lovely dash:
Unfortunately I had just removed insurance from the vette a few weeks before since it wasn't running.
Grrrrrrrrrr...

Your think it would be enough to have your stuff stolen, But they destroy parts to remove it.
I had a POS Jensen CD player stolen from me once. I would have gave someone the CD player. It was not worth $10. But the thief did $100 worth of damage to the dash to remove it.
Thief's are by far the lowest life form on the planet.

I hate a POS thief. The one thing you can take solace in is that they will always be a worthless POS thief with nothing to show for life and you will get through this in time.

someone stole the stereo out of my volkswagen GTI, and they pried the door handles off the doors and pushed the flipper through the holes to get inside. They were smoking the whole time, and put the cigarette out in the carpet with their shoe. I don't smoke, and it took weeks for the smell to go away
My little girls were screaming when we got back to the car and discovered the theft because they thought the person was coming back for more parts, and was going to hurt them. we felt so violated.
They couldn't sleep all night because since they didn't see the person who broke in, they thought the person was some kind of monster following them home.
I feel for ya man........

Hey man when I put the DVD player in my car I pulled a pioneer DEH-P9300 that, if I can find in my garage , you are welcome to if you want it. My car's an 88. I see your profile says you have a 92. Not sure if you were running stock bose or not... It's a really nice deck. The PO gave me a stack of receipts, one of which was for the stereo he had installed. $2100. Something like $600 just for the DEH-P9300. No MP3 but you can load custom animations on it and all kinds of crazy stuff... Let me know...

Hate to say this but could he have been a corvette owner that needed just the driver side and radio. Fricking low life, if I would of seen him doing that to my car they would be stitching up his head.

Safety Car
Horrible.. sorry to see that.
I've been there with other cars, I know how it feels.
Part of the reason I went double-din for my install was the hope that it would be less desirable to steal. Also made sure the new speakers were hidden this time.
Wish it was legal to electrify parked cars
