$19,999 for 06 Vette loaded and 6k miles????
http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/1672980229.html
What do you guys think... I emailed him for kicks (that would be 2 semesters of college funds)
Maybe someone will want to jump on this deal... I will let you know what he says...
I hate the idea that this is a scam, but it probably is...
Here is how my email went:
I saw you are selling your corvette for $19,999 is that the correct price? Has the car been in an accident? What is your location if I wanted to see the car? Does the car need anything? is the title clear?
Thanks

Scam. You know what they say when it's too good to be true. Notice the similarities with this ad:
http://www.domesticsale.com/autoclassified/19401.html
Notice the email domain? A simple google search yielded several such "low price" ads - all with the same domain name in the email.
Here's another:

I know... You guys are 100% right but it makes you wonder if there are any deals out there???
I figured it was a scam but something inside me still says, "Imagine if he is for real"
Doesnt matter, I dont have that money, and wont have that money till I graduate

What your "feeling" about this deal is exactly what the scammers are counting on. Remember, all they need is ONE sucker to bite.

Quick reply!
Here is what she said...
Hello ,
Thanks for being interested in buying my 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with automatic transmission. It is in a good condition, no scratches,no damages, never been implicated in any accidents,no problems at the engine, runs very well. It has 8 Cylinder 6.0 Liter ,6,155 miles, clear title, a perfect car.I'm selling it because I have a two years contract with an oil company from Iraq and I don't want to keep the car in the garage for two years .I arrived here 2 days ago but the car is still in US.We will use only eBay to complete the sale.eBay will supervise the transaction and they will help you with the papers and they guide you in this process.Everything needs to be clarified and I do my best to take this sale to an end and I have a selective way to do this.So if you are interested and you accept eBay ,email me back and I will tell you how eBay works and I will give you copy of the CarFax.
Sincerely,
Brenda Henderson

I got one of them a wile back. The reply I got back said, The car is located in Florida and the shipping company wants $1500 to bring it "local" I don't have the money to have it hauled, hence the low low price. You can pay the shipper directly via wire transfer funds etc
The bad part is their not even doing it on a personal level, It was a preset message to cover all cars and trucks. It referred to the corvette as "The car" and Charlotte was replaced with "local". When I first seen it I thought "No way is anyone that stupid!" But not even two weeks later my brother-in-law's girl friend started bragging about this car she was getting super cheap that was located in Florida.
I say, If your dumb enough to fall for the scams Then you deserve to get ripped off. It is amazing how dumb people are, and even more when they think they are geting something free

Be careful responding to ANY ad that sounds remotely like a scam. They want your email/IP address.
My email address was recently compromised after answering an ad for Dymags. They sent spam and God only knows what else to wherever. I had to change passwords and other "cookies" just to get back to normal.

It's the little things that are the tip-off. like email responses at 1:30 in the morning- no phone numbers, or pictures that don't quite match the geographic local.

Man, I used to work for AutoTrader.com and sometimes I helped remove fraud ads like that. Buddy of mine I used to work with talked to someone different EVERY DAY who would fall for dumb ads like this.
Some folks are just dumb dumb dumb.
