I loved my 88 IROC that I bought in 89 so much I still have it. Dont know as I would trade my C4 that I just bought for another one tho... I do love the 6 speed in the vette!
As far as the Yugo goes, I can make your dream a reality, my dad still has one sitting on the back side of his place, he cut the roof off and bangs around his place in it when he doesnt feel like driving the jeep!

The guy I bought my Jag from has an '88 Testarosa, black on black. The problem is he's got a four foot wire harness that copped a short and burnt up and the replacement part used is gonna cost him $600.
The car has 36,000 miles on it. I guess when you look at it the milage isn't that bad considering it's age but it's for sale and the ask is 60 grand.

So I'd stick with my car. For the price, there's no other 80's car I'd rather have (though mine is technically a 1990).
I think Turbo T/A's are neat too, to all the people who mentioned it. But the interior and the ride is so crappy...

Apparently I misread the OP. I thought it was an even trade, not that the values had to be even. Obviously no sane person would trade me straight up a ZR-1 for an F40 or 959.

Tell me you didn't see the Motor Trend 'Classic' edition comparing both of these cars side-by-side! What a great article and excellent photo's and impressions. Yeah, it was $14 for the mag, but some seriously sweet cars profiled in there!

From the showroom floor an '87 GN was "officially" .7 seconds faster than the Corvette (13.8 vs. 14.5). However... you can make a GN run in the 11s without hardly breaking a sweat. Not so easy in an 80s Corvette.
In a drag race... GN > Corvette. Period.

Was this an original/period mag? Or a recent issue? I still have an issue of "Automobile" from 1988 with the F40 and 959 compared. I remember buying it as a kid.

Thought the GNs ran 14s and the GNX was the 13 sec killer?

I settled for keeping the 87 and buying the Trans AM ( Yes I know it's a 91, but it was carried over from the 80's )
I would definately love a Turbo TA or just a 87-90 Trans Am or Forumlua again too. I always thought Pontiac did a better job on the performance car design side... The Delorean would be cool from the Back to the Future Standpoint and I'd park an IROC Z next to them too. Lambo too.

Every now and then I see a low mile 5.0 mustang, but they are usually at about $10,000 or a little more. I only really want a cherry 100 percent stock one for nostalgic reasons- 'cause they certainly won't keep up with a 6 speed LT1 in stock form.
but I always wanted one, just never got around to it.
