I really was surprised at that Z price. I was watching the auction live and wished I had a phone bidder number. That was beyond a steal. The prices on all the collectibles look like they are being adjusted by the recession.
BTW I wonder if the Z owner bought his own car back? The guy that won the bid wasn't very excited at the winning price.
I also saw that BB Camaro SS/RS sell for 21k. A steal as well.

So that Red ZR1 that they failed to show us in the end sold for $16,500??? If so I cannot believe that. How is that possible. It can't be. They should have let us see that last sale at least damn. They were talking about it but don't let us see it sell.

I bought my 89 vert at the local Mecum auction several years ago. They couldn't have been better to deal with. They also seem to have at least a couple of recent Barrett cars every year show up for sale. Buyers who over paid and couldn't wait to unload.

Today Sat there were a couple of odd Corvette things.
A 57 Nomad on a 95 chasis with a hydraulically lifting clam shell front end !
The front interior was pure Corvette dash and all !
Beautiful Black car went for $ 76,000 , far too little for such a hybrid !
Another oddity was a 59 sitting on a C 5 chasis ! LS motor and all . It went for $ 120,000 !
Saw a few cars literally stolen the price was so low but condition and originality often not easy to see on TV .

A few months ago GM sold all their mule cars on BJ. They sold the Big Block version of the ZR1, A convertible ZR1, Snake Skinner C4, and even an 89 proto type ZR1.
All them sold cheap IMO Some real cheap.
The crazy part: GM was the seller, But ALL of the cars they sold from their Heritage Collection BJ auction came only with a bill of sale. NONE had titles. I find that just crazy
Ive noticed over the last year or so the 88 anv cars are selling super high in price compared to the normal C4 or even the 93 ruby red's. I believe I may start to look for one.
Just a few weeks ago and semi local used car dealer had two C4's on ebay for auction. They ended within an hour of each other. One was a 88 white anv, and the other a black rose 92 LT1 car. Both automatic, coupes. The 88 had 120,000 miles on it and the 92 had 107,000. Both where about the same in quality.
I looked at both of them in person the 88 had $4700 on the window and the 92 had $6000 on it. They set for over two months on his lot. I offered him $2000 for either one of them and he turned me down ( duh ) but he started the cars out on ebay with no reserve so I watched them planing on biding two grand.
The 92 final bid was $5200, The 88 was $9100. !
He got almost double out of the 88. I was dumb founded. Me personally I would rather have an LT1 car over a 88 automatic. I don't know what it is about them, but it seems to be the C4's hot ticket.

That was a steal for the ZR-1. I am happy the 88 Anniv is pulling some strong numbers since I have one. The car was always looked upon as the red headed stepchild. Although it was only a trim option as were other anniv cars there were only 2050 cars produced. This is the lowest of any anniv Corvette from Chevy. Many of these cars were already wrecked or ruined. They were driven just like any other Vette. The 35th's are still out there but I guess not as many. The ZR-! had a 6 yr production run and the more coveted ones are the 94 and 95's. I still cant figure out that car being sold for that price though. If I had the cash and the room it would be parked next to my 88 and 71!!
Happy Easter everyone!
