Default Lazy eye

I've got some type of problem with the left headlight. Sometimes it doesnt roll up, it stops halfway and keeps trying for a bit then gives up.

Also, if you roll them down and put them away, you'll hear the little motor still going and doing some loud unhealthy sound as if it were still trying to get it rolling even though the light is concealed beneath the hood.

Anyone else know what's going on and what to do? I don't want to have to take it apart, I dont even know what to look for!

You will have to take it apart.

The gears are stripped and the bushings need to be replaced. Rebuilding one isn't brain surgery, buy the kit and take your time.....it will work fine when you're done.

Actually it is an easy and inexpensive repair. 99% of the time the gears are fine and just the bushings need replaced. This link will help and contact me if you need more info.

Your nylon bushings have turned to powder and is causing your problem. You can purchase the bushings inexpensively. Took me about 2 hrs to replace them. It helps to have a guide while doing it. I believe the bushings came with instructions. The headlights will work like new.

Where can I buy them, and should I do both of them then?

I would replace both. After you finish the first one...the second one will take half as long since you know what you will be doing. There are three bushings in each headlight.

Not sure which year car you have, but I'm guessing '91.

If one has failed, the other isn't far behind. Do both.

At the very minimum, the bushings are powder.....which can lead to gear failure.
