C4 Convertible luggage rack fixings
Does anyone know where I can get a set of the rubber captive nut fixings for my C4. I removed the rack as having the rear end sprayed at last, and some of the old fixings have perished. Thanks

They're a metric barrel nut. I went to my local ACE hardware and got standard thread pieces that were the same diameter and used some stainless machine screws. I'm sure you could try a commercial fastener company if you want the metric ones.
OOPs, i see your from over there, you may not have an ACE hardware but I'm sure you have fastener suppliers in the UK...

If you want direct replacements, try Gene at GM Parts House.

If you want to replace them all with something new, try Fastenal. If it exists they have it.

Melting Slicks
Not to hi-jack the thread, but how do you get the cushions out of the slats without damaging either piece? I tried to remove mine once, but didn't get anywhere with it.

A couple of possibilites for consideration:
You could try moving all the serviceable rubber barrel nuts to the 4 rails that are attached to the rear crossbar and use auto trim adheasive tape on the short middle rail and the other two long rails that are independent of the crossbar since they don't really contribute to the overall rigidity of the rack. Another thought would be to drill and attach the rails with pop rivits.
