Default Who rebuilds Bilteins

Where can I have my original 94 bilsteins rebuilt? They have low miles but I suspect time has not been good to them.

I tried to find info on Bilstein's website on rebuilding. There isn't even a way to contact Bilstein there.

Do you think it's possible to revalve them to get a softer ride? The car is just a weekend cruiser for me and I know it's a sports car and the ride is supposed to be stiff but it gets annoying after a while when every little crack in the road rattles the heck out of the car.

Nah.. they got a full race shop with a separate customer service. Just call the 800 number for the west coast shop and then ask for service..they get $100 a pop for the FX3 shocks- maybe they charge a little less for regular ones.

most likely they can redo the compression valving, but the rebound will be the same.

Default Bilstein Part #'s

Not to hijack the thread here, but I have an LT4 with Z51 suspension. It has Bilstein shocks on it. Is there a part or model number on the shocks anywhere or do any of you guys know what shock part number went with the Z51 package. ( Good to know when it comes time to decide weather to rebuild or replace. )

If I was to get them rebuilt. I'd have Bilstein do it since they are the ones who made it.

One thing I didn't get is why Bilstein paints the lower bushing? The paint always cracks off there.

You better check that, they have some type of disclaimer about that. I have spoke to them on rebuilding my FX3 shocks and I did ask just what you are suggesting. From what I remember it does not work that way.
