Looking for Vendor for brake lines..
I need to replace the "steel" brake lines on my 89 Vette. I found only one source for "pre bent" steel brake lines (not the flex hoses on the calipers) but he claims he only makes C4 lines without ABS. As the 86+ cars have ABS they will not work, has anybody needed to replace theirs? If so, where did you get the "pre bent" lines from? The auto store straight lines do not have the correct Metric fitting on them so even IF I was willing to splice them, they will not bolt in.

Classic Tube can probably do it.
I need to send them the fuel lines from the filter to the fuel rail on my 86' . I spoke with them and they said, if you can get it to us, we can duplicate it.

All the auto parts stores have the metric fittings on the straight lines around here. Actually metric is what the stores mostly have.
Take the old one off, measure carefully then go get the straight line. Use the old one to shape the new one. Maybe take your old line to the auto parts store, match the threads to the new ones.

When I spoke to them they told me they did not make them for any ABS Corvette.

It seems they have "some" metric fittings but the ones going into the ABS unit are not available, and the cost of buying a "bubble flare" tool to use once seems out of the question. If the ends were a standard double flare instead of the bubble flare I'd cut the OEM lines and use the fittings on replacement tubing.

Call Jason at Vette2Vette. I was just there last month and took some pics of parts he has in stock. You want brake lines? He has them. This pile was waiting to be sorted and tagged and include both C4 and C5 lines that appear to be rust free. 815-673-6200 or www.vette2vette.com
