Looking for Die-Cast C4 Model
I am looking for a red 1:24 scale die-cast model of a 1984-1990 coupe. I am looking for one that has opening doors. My wife and are are using a cake topper like this for our wedding:
and I want him to be stepping into a red C4 to resemble my '90. If anyone has a non collector model at a decent price please let me know.

Have you checked ebay? I've bought some that were real cheap on there. A red 90 (or close) should be a snap to find.

I've been looking for a 1/24th scale model of any kind of C4 and haven't had any luck. I even had the guys at a well supplied local hobby shop search their distributers. Tough to come by, I'll be watching this post.

Correct, the Promo cars are just platic body shells. The doors don't open.
I have a die cast 1/24 scale Yellow model, doors and hood open, nice model actually.
Cannot find a mfg though, and all I can help you with is the bar code identification.
That may send you off in the right direction if you can cross check it:

no pic, sorry, actually don't have a clue how to do that! LOL
Anyway, it is a die cast, 1991 model (new body style, rectangle taillights), has the LT5 engine, complete exhaust as would the real Corvette, and the interior is well detailed. It has a ZR1 decal on rear bumper, but no fender flares.
I might be able to find the box it came in, believe I have it stored in the attic somewhere.
If I can't find the box, I do remember that I bought the model about 5 years ago at that car dealer who's showroom is across the street from the Corvette Museum. Contact with that business might lead you to their vendor????

This has potential. I gues I am being really picky in looking for an early body style in a red coupe and made of metal... I have a little while to find one so Im not going to jump on anything. Keep the suggestions coming.

I looked at the link the previous poster provided.
Quite sure that is the same model as my own, except for the color change. Front hood gap appears the same as are the wheels.
For that price, buy it and you'll have one!!

Burning Brakes
When I bought my '93 Ruby last year I got a die cast anniversary edition with the car. Has tilt hood, doors and hatch open and targa pops out. Only problem is passenger mirror was missing. Not sure what the scale is about 10" long.

Check this web site they had 86 and some others in 24 scale and they probably could be painted. Coup and convertible. Copies of special cars made such as Indy, 96 etc.

The one I have of my '95 Vert is a Weller. It is die cast with a red exterior and a white interior. I sprayed the interior black satin to match my car and then put black flocking in to simulate carpeting. The doors open. I think I got two for $12.
Franklin Mint has some high quality cars; I have several. I got a '91 yellow vert for about $24. If you do not care about the original box or mint condition you can get one pretty reasonably on E-Bay. Hope this helps.
