C4 Southern California Run
I’ve seen many threads and posts about "the wave being dead, C5 owners don’t wave, some C6 do, I love my C4, I’m a Vette enthusiast etc etc…"
I’m in Southern California and there are lots of C4 Vettes here.
A C3 owner friend of mine goes on C3 runs, I've seen pictures and it looks awesome. I also run with a San Diego group, all Vettes are C5 and C6 but me and a 78 Silver Anniversary and we have a great time. Another group from Riverside do it every other week and they have a great time as well.
Let’s say, if there is a C4 run would you attend?
We’d meet in a centralized location, go for a drive around the SoCal inland canyon roads, stop for lunch and go home. This event would take no more than 6 hours. This takes lots of coordination for the run and a restaurant.
Would you attend? Your thoughs

I would love to, as long as its not much more than several hours away from where I live. We need to get all the C4 Cali owners together.

If you are interested, shoot me a PM.
Yes, we all have to drive. I drive 90 minutes to meet with the San Diego group and sometimes another 60~90 to get back.
Going far and out of state? I'm in, we can call it an overnighter, requires planning and for some approval from the other 1/2 but it can be done. A run to the Grand Canyon would ROCK! ...good idea
The first run would be a mess, just like our first sexual experience then, we become studs

How about meeting at the colorado river? or San Diego? How about at Big Bear Lake?
Santa Monica? Calaveras county? Endless possibilities.....................
make it worthwhile, make it a weekend..............
remember, if we hold it close to your house, we get to use your bathroom.............
Grand canyon run?
Yosemite run?
Beach run?
people have to commit with cash........
1. somebody has to contact some hotel or motel to take over the place for a couple days.
2. Gotta pick a cooler time, like September or March or April
3. Has to be at a place where there's something to do, like Dizzleyland, or some kind of boat ride, mountain views, or bus tour, or drag strip or slalom course, DJ, refreshments........
Somebody as to come up with timing devices, time recording forms, or sunscreen.
Volunteers are needed to arrive early, spend time on line or the phone to set it up
The problem is that no matter where you hold it, SOMEBODY has to drive for hours to get there.
Hey, whose idea was this anyway .........lol

I'd be up for a c4 ride and lunch...SD, Big Bear, or the like...not much interested in the weekend or racing....too much effort, too little reward. That's just my opinion...

I would say we could do both types of events. One could be just a one day simple ride-&-lunch type of thing. Then another time we could have a more involved 2-4 day event near a drag strip or road/slalom course like coupeguy2001 is talking about.
That way, the people who aren't interested in the more involved event can participate in the simpler one day event that is of more interest to them. I'd go to both types of events myself, I've never been to a racing track. All this talk about events and C4 runs has got me itching to go now, lol.
