Jim Rome is a sport show host for espn. The show is called rome is burning, to be honest with I have no idea how he as not had his block knocked off by some of these athletes 
He is pretty funny though His show airs at 4:30pm eastern.

Maybe a tinge of jealousy? 
Seriously, never seen the show, and probably never will. Seems a lot like a male Nancy Grace to me. A lot of people like her, but I can't stand to hear her voice. Worse than rap music.

I am willing to bet Jim Rome drives a Saab and made this whole thing up. If he does own a Lambo or high dollar Porsche then He seems to fit another realm like the Corvette guy he is ranting on. Except Jim's realm is one that cries out for those around Him to notice that he is successful in business and can afford the most expensive things in life. Why else would anyone in his right mind buy a European car costing thousands more while lacking in the performance of the American Icon?

Jim is a total A-hole, and his tv show is pretty much the same as the stupid rant on his radio show. BTW, he does drive a AMG SL65, and would have probably killed whatever vette was trying race him; but he is too much of a a-hole to put the pedal down. Why the heck odes he drive a one off race car if he doesn't want the occasional drag race?

Unless of course Corvette guy was behind the wheel of a ZR1, then Jim's V12 and all would be got its lumps. MT test time was 3.3 seconds on their road test of the 09 ZR1 faster then C&D posting. Jim could of also bought himself a nice vacation or two or three or four with the near $300,000 price tag the 2010 SL65 costs. I sure with Jim is all about image. When you think about it he is just as silly as the Corvette guy, but in a different way.

zr1 lost in the end but beat the f18 to 80mph both times.... thats fast!

This is from Edmunds on the 12-cylinder, 604 HP Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG: "Mercedes claims 0-60-mph acceleration in less than 4.2 seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 155 mph." That's pretty quick but not so good for having 604 HP indicating the car is probably pretty heavy. Lots of Corvettes can beat that.
