Default Air Brush Update.

I asked the forum a couple of weeks ago if I should replace the emblems after getting my 84 repainted in 2009 Velocity yellow or have them air brushed on. I went with the air brushing. Here's a picture. Should be done by the end of next week. Gonna spend the 4th of July weekend putting in new interior and sound system. Then I just have to save up for new shoes for it. I can't wait. More pictures to follow when it gets reassembled.

The shadow around the emblem was air brushed in to give it a 3-d effect.
It looks pretty flat prior to the clear coat.

What looks like a run in the air brushing is actually the handle on the gas door.

Check out the flame job on the canoe.

Looks real! But I think if I was going to have them airbrushed on I would have done something cool that didn't look stock, like since it is yellow have some kinda flame job on it. But dont get me wrong they look great!

That is really a great job. Certainly will make waxing easier.

I thought about that, but decided to get crazy on the air cleaner instead.

That was a good idea and it turned out great. I'd loved to do that to my car.

Great job, I always wondered how a C4 would look in millenium and velocity yellow.

Default looks great

I f you don't mind, how much are you paying for the paint job? I want to repaint my car the stock color, but I need a ball park on how much a paint job in which they remove some panes would cost as opposed to leaving them on and repaint it that way. I know a repaint of a different color is more, just looking for a ball park. My emblems are discolore as well so airbrushging them might also be an option when it comes time to repaint.

I traded a 1972 Mercedes 350 SL for the paint job. It was in fair to good shape. When I asked www.tkcustoms.com what they would charge someone for the job they said $8-10,000. Keep in mind that although the body was straight, I made them tear it down completely, prep it, 3 coats of translucent Velocity yellow, clear coat and polish all paint and air brush emblems. So some shops will charge less, but I wanted a quality job. Hope that answers your question.
