What do you C4 guys think about C3 Corvettes???
I really never doing anything in the C4 forum seeing that I do not own one, but one day just might buy one. I do have a question though, what do you guys think about C3 Corvettes?
Would you consider buying one?
What would make you walk away?

They are nice to look at. I probably will never own one. I prefer the late model C4's as they have a more modern look. I currently own a 1995 Conv.

The 68-73 body style is one of my favorite automotive designs of all time. One of only a few examples I can think of that looks just as good in hardtop form as it does as a convertible (early E-Types are another). I'd love to own a '70 LT1 as a cruiser / Sunday fun car.

Had an 73, 74 vert, and my wife drove an 82 daily for 4 years. Cool cars for the times and they are starting to appreciate. Me, the c4's, especially 86 and up run circles around c3's and for the $ you can't go wrong. About the same maintenance only a better ride, unless you want to get off around 10k more for a c5. I'm a cruiser and a driver and for the $ the c4 is probably the best bet. My opinion

Burning Brakes
Like all Corvettes in one way or another.
Really like the 68-73 chrome bumper C3's. The rubber bumpers not so much.
My son is loobying me to sell the C4 and get a 70 BB. He doesn't yet understand the difference in values between my 92 vert and a 70 BB.

I like the C3's, as well as the C2's and C5's...would love to own one of each to go with my C4, however I think the wife would have me committed. My son wants to buy a C3 for his first car...he's 14 and wants to get one now to fix up by the time he can drive...needless to say I'm apprehensive about that decision.

I had a 75 and a 78 before I bought my 92 Vert. The corvettes from 73 to 83 lacked power. I liked the dash of the 75 vette, hard to beat the huge tach and speedo. Quality of the 78 vette was poor, lots of rattles, etc. The 78 Pace Car looked awesome, but it was all show and no go. Even though I own a C4, my favorite corvette is a 1971 LT1

Safety Car
My wife had a 76 and was a beautiful car. But like several friends with C-3's complained about sticking money in the brakes constantly without putting many miles on it. In stock form it did not handle very well. That's why she eventually bought her C-6 for her 50th birthday.

I love the lines of the C3. I wouldn't mind having one that's been well cared for. My first ride was in a brand new '82 Vette at Beardmore Chevrolet way back in '82. That's when my Vette addiction began.

I own several, very seldom drive one. I thought GM made a mistake by not continuing with the C2 (midyear). JMO. Once the
C4 came out, it was so much better of a car, in my opinion, I pretty much stayed with them. If I drive a vette, it will usually be a late C4, especially if it's across country or for an extended period of time. If I was younger (I had vettes as dd for years), I would definately be driving a C6 (But I can own a late C4 for about the same money as tax and license on a new C6). Most of the people I talk to seem to like the shark look of the C3's though, especially if they don't own a vette.

I started out with 2 different 76 models, one white and a red one, Then got a 75. They were all great and I really liked the t-tops. For some reason I sold them and got an 87 red vert. This was a great car and I now have an 89 with the targa top. I like the car but the top sucks. I like driving with it off but it is a real pain in the butt. To answer your question directly, I like the C-3s better.

I haven't met a Corvette I didn't like !
I wish I still had my 69 coupe !
I have a stock 95 nice driver !
I have a Forged 383 LT 4 with everything but the kitchen sink that will paste your mustache and smile to the back of your head and It has a name and Set's off car alarms idling.
It's all good !

most of my life i liked the C3, ever since age 12. that's like 3 decades and some change
not really much anymore........i like the the C6 more than all of them combined. old gets old to me, its all cute and neat but old is old and i don;t dig it so much anymore.

We like all corvettes, some better than others! Personally I prefer the chrome bumnper C3s, but I wouldn't turn down a good deal on a rubber bumper, with the exception of the '73. Never did like the two different bumpers on the same car. With any vette, it's more the look, than the power, that intrigues me.
