Default Deer vs Vette

I finaly got my car out of storage, got it registered, and had it running right. Then thursday night bambi's mom decided to checkout my hood while I was doing 55 down the road. Now Im left wondering if the insurance company is going to total it and if Im just screwed on the thousands invested in the engine.

Wow I would say round 1 went to the deer. Did it get up, or did you get some venison out of the deal. From photo is the area at top of windshield bent & crushed in? You must of had the targa off when you hit it.

Looks like the targa is still there.

Looks worse then it probably is but its still going to cost you.
Don't let them take it from you if they total it. Parts alone will let you find a nice C4 to fix up.
Good luck.

Deer died on impact and landed about 50ft down the road.

The targa was on, it exploded when the deer crushed the A pillar cross bar.

Man I can't belive what a stroke of bad luck that was . That would just make me sick to waite all winter to drive it and this happen . Even if they do total it don't let that baby go because most of that car is intact and can be used. I hope they can fix it and get you back on the road soon without a big hassel. Good luck and let us know how things are going with this situation.

good to see that your ok. As long as the windshield frame is fixable then you should be able to repair it. Worst case scenario you can buy it back for parts and move your engine into another C4.

I'm always watching for deer where I live, I have hit two with my truck past year. Never seen a vette that hit a deer and was wondering how bad it would be. I will be extra careful now. Sorry for your misfortune. Good luck with the insurance company. My guess is they write it off.

The main thing is your OK. I hit on of those sob's in my pick up
and to tell you the truth your Vette looks in better shape than my truck did. Hope every thing works out for you

Find all your receipts and have them prepared for when the insurance company comes out that way they can see that it is considered a show car and they can give you the money to fix it or give you the correct amount for the car and parts. You may also be able to take a few parts off the car too. Good luck and damn I hope I don't hit one of them.

But seriously this is such an unfortunate play of events for you. I hope everything works out and you get your money back from your car. Dont let them F*** you around and be willing to get a lawyer if it comes to it.

If they total it, find a junk yard LT1 and toss it in there before they take it away. I won't tell anyone
