New exhaust
I am wondering what kind of gains or changes if any, will I see by eliminating the cats and just running straight pipes from the manifold to new turbo mufflers on my 92?

I vote on keeping CATS... your engine was made to run with them, and you can get hi-flow cats these days under $100/cat. I have also heard that the cats in later C4's aren't as restrictive.

Looking for a seat of the pants giggle factor change up the gear ratios. If you don't care about your top end gas milage this may be the way to go.

Keep the Cats?
I recently replaced the defective Cats on my 88 y-pipe. One cat had the inside break free and sounded terrilbe. Went to ecklers and purchased the Dyn- a- flow y-pipe without cats and it comes with a new main cat. Everything fit perfect. Using Flowmaster mufflers. A bit louder. More power. Better starting and better milage. If Flotida gets emmission laws I might have a problem but that is down the road and the vette is 20 years old so it may be "grandfathered"

if you dont mind changing the whole exhaust .going to a true dual exhaust like a 92-96 will get you the biggest gains. the coek in your system is the 2 into one pipe . its not that hard a deal to change over . you could buy a later cat back system and put 2 high flow catsin there or just delete them . if you do and your car is basicly stk stay with the 21/2 in sytem or you will use low end tq
