Default Forum Members- PLEASE Loan me $2k for a Corvette. I have searched 7 agonizing months!

Found a Red/Black/Black LT4 Convertible. Can get it at $28k. I only have $26k. I have worked my butt off for this car, and still run short. It was advertised as $31,900, but I can get it for $28k.

7 Months to find the perfect one, and these things are SO RARE to find (for the color combo you want in an LT4).
I am a full time student, and am recovering from a major surgery (so I should be back at my work in approx. 1 month- in physical rehab. right now).

I have searched everyday for about 1 hr a day. Go to library every weekend and check all the major newspapers. I am desperate, and have finally found the one I want, and am short on funds. A loan, or a gift would be fine. Heck... start a donation for a young man who is recovering from Pectus Excavatum (what I had).
Time is extremely short, because I know for a price like $28k, it will be gone in no time! Help a fellow forum member get his dream car.

Thanks,
Andy Solomon

Default Loan

Dad won't let me.

When I said "Loan" I meant gift

Just give me whatever you would spend on an air foil. All I need is 20 people who give $100, or 40 that give $50... etc.

You are Corvette owners! You are all supposed to be rich. :)

Why not give the owner the $26K and work out a payment plan with him? Say over the next 6 months, pay the 2K (maybe a little interest too)?

Andy,
$26,000 cash talks for itself. Give it a shot. I guarantee it will work out.

What kind of surgery are you recovering from???????

Speaking from experience.....if this one passes you by......dont worry......there is a car out there with YOUR name on it.......IT WILL BE LESS......and have MORE than you want in options, etc.. I looked for mine for 2 1/2 years.........saw some I could not live with out....I LIVED.....and found one that was twice as nice as what I "COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT".

My 91 was originally listed at $13,500..........and his lowest was $12,000......three months later.....I picked it up for $9,000 from the same guy!.

KEY WORD............BE PATIENT!!!!!!!

I might add that having a Corvette is exactly the reason I am NOT rich. :)

Good luck, if I WERE rich I would give it to you in a heartbeat.

Andy,

To truly appreciate a Corvette, you must earn it. Every penny of it. No handouts :(

This might be your dream car, but you've got $26,000 right now that would buy a damn nice car. If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. Don't go pimpin' yourself to the forum for the extra $$$!!!!!

Offer the 26k. If they won't take it, then it wasn't meant to be. If you've waited this long, then a little more won't hurt while you keep saving.

Sorry to hear you're short on funds. I can relate. I wanted mine so bad I skipped two house payments for the downpayment. I got what I wanted. Where there is a will, there's a way. I caught up and can sleep at night once again. Risky, but 5 minutes behind the wheel convinces me it was the thing to do at the time. This is my third Corvette and I have struggled for each one of them. I missed out on many that I really wanted, but in the end I am a very satisfied owner and am responsible for many converts. I let'em drive it and BANG, they end up with one! Good luck, by the way my car was well under 26k and it is fantastic. Maybe you need to find one for 26k and be happy. :) :)

Andy,
Like I said, I'll GLADLY go and check out this car for you, but I need all the money I have to pay for my new car. Send me an IM with the guys phone number (I don't have that issue of the Autolocator anymore) and I'll give him a call and work on him for you.

Umm YEAH! Want to know why I skipped dynoing my Ruby? I wanted to put that $40 toward getting the tranny serviced on the '85 ($90) Most of us, esp C4 people, are just middle class folks working hard and saving every penny that WE can for our families and our cars. My two vettes together STILL cost less than a decked out Suburban, and I financed them one at a time.

Since you're Andy1983, then I suspect that means you're only 19, and there is still plenty of time left to meet your life's dreams.

I agree, I would have a lot more money if I didn't own the corvette, for a car that gets driven only a few thousand miles a year the amount of money I have in each and every one of those miles is very high.... Don't get me wrong, it is all very worth it..

Is that car located in York, PA. If so, it has been there for months,, try to drive a harder deal, I am sure you can get it

Your probably not going to get any sympathy here. I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like you have even saved up $26K on you own, it seems like most of it is your daddy's money or an inheritance. When I bought my Vette it took me 9 months to find mine, my parent only would let me to borrow $5K, so I was limited in what I could spend to my savings account plus $5K. I also didn't want to go broke either.

$26K will buy one hell of a nice C4, either you need to continue your search, wait for the price to drop, pick a less desirable C4 (95LT1 Conv. 6 speed or 96 Lt4 coupe). More than 95% of our C4 on this forum aren't even worth $26k.

What he said. Hell for $26 you can almost buy a used C5!
