Default Got a price quote for getting the vette "wrapped"

I've seen alot of examples lately of cars, even vettes, being wrapped with a screen printed vinyl. I spoke with a company locally and reached an agreement of $3300 for all the graphics and labor, including removal of the greenwood body package. It also comes with a 7 year warranty.

Should I go for it? It would be way cheaper than paint and I would think would look nearly as good, right?

don't ask me what color or anything yet......

Man I seen that on a mustang at the track last year, and I don't think it cost him nearly that much, do more internet searches, !!
Do you have the GREENWOOD front piece?

I am not a fan of cars that are wrapped... i think it should only be for cars covered in marketing/advertising material. Cost a bit much as well.

well....considering they are going to take care of the body prep work and remove the greenwood package, I think $3300 is good. I'm leaning towards the grandsport theme...still not sure on anything yet though.

I'd question how long will the wrap last in comparison to a real paint job?

another thing to consider in the wrap vs paint is how much will it cost to re-wrap or repair if it is keyed or scratched in anyway, that vs a paint shop that can touch it up to match within the first couple of years of a paint job for relatively little

With the latest UV inks, I'd think a wrap would last quite a while. And in east texas I don't think it'd really fade too quickly either, especially if you kept a cover on it or in a garage. I'd stay as far away from any trees that'd drop sap though. That'd probably just kill it.

Been thinking about wrapping my truck, but if I did it, it'd be pretty wild. No since in just doing a solid color. That'd be a waste of ink.

Interesting. What are the specs? Material thickness, durability, how to clean, how to repair damage, etc.

There were some posts about vinyl wraps on exotics, I especially like the satin black look. This may be a good alternative to repaint. I actually had my repainted a few years ago for $2,000, with minor detachment/prep work included. This was a shop in Elizabeth, NJ, a little rundown/rough neighborhood place.

Comes with a 7 year warranty. I've seen them in person and they don't shine quite like a real paint job, but darn close.

If somebody were to damage it, thats is why i have full coverage insurance.

I'm not sold on it yet, but a GS theme wrap for $3300, hard to pass up.

Depending on how much body work you need done, I'd think a GS paint scheme would be $3000 or less. I wouldn't wrap the car for just a plain paint scheme...but that's just me. My stepfather swears by a paintshop near you and says his prices are more than fair. I can get the info if you'd want to do a direct price compare for paint vs wrap...

Eh, it looks great on an advertising vehicle or if you were doing a track car, perhaps a Corvette Challenge replica or something along those lines. At the end of the day you are putting a giant sticker on your street car.

What would a full body wrap weigh? 50 lbs? More? Less?

I'm in the Guard and the recruiters have two vans with the graphic covering on them and I think they have had them for at least 5 years. They sit out side all the time in all kinds of weather and they don't look like they have faded at all.

Take some time and practice spraying. My paint cost under $500 and is a solid 10-footer. If I did it right and learned a little first is could have been first-rate

At the very least you could spray the Admiral Blue and the use the vinyl for the stripe
