Default Anyone airbagged their C4?

Just curious, watched youtube too much I guess.

I assume you talking early C4s. IMO The air bags take away from the originally of the older Corvettes and makes the steering wheel look like everything else out their. Glad I don't have them. Not planning a crash and always wear the belts.

Wow ps374, that is one SERIOUS brain fart. I am SOOO glad I am not the only one that has those.

Most people seem to think the nature of our suspension makes it a poor candidate. I have yet to find anyone with a bagged C4.

I think it would be very difficult to do with the stock transverse leafs especially in the front. But a coil-over design may work. The leafs do not allow for the car to drop down very much without lots of work.

(I truly apologize for my original message below. I thought I was on the C5 General forum, and the OP was looking for input from other C5 owners who may have previously owned C4s. As I have posted several times, there are parts of the C4 that I would definitely transplant to the C5: the outstanding steering and the wonderful seats. I wasn't attempting to be flip in my message. Sorry guys and gals, I was working on my first cuppa joe at the time!)

Nope. I just traded up for a C5. Quite a difference in suspension.

I've seen a kit for the C4, but haven't heard of anyone actually installing it (and if I remember right, it was from a company I'd NEVER buy anything from). I wouldn't doubt that someone has it on their C4, but Haven't seen anyone here do it. I'd imagine you could always install shockwaves and it'd work similar to a coilover setup. Personally I wouldn't do it to my vette, but since I'm working on finishing bagging my truck, I'd love to see someone do it to "their" vette.

Well we all took the OP differently. I thought he was asking if anyone had deployed their airbags in their C4.

Yo guys, I´m Dutch and live in Sweden soooo it can look a bit foony when I start asking stuff here.

Since I saw the expression "airbagged" on youtube, my guess was everybody knew what I meant.

Naaah, hope I never have to ask if anybody has used their airbags yet.
No do good you know...

I don´t think airbagging the vette would do good to the air dam in the front, for starters.
Think I´ll leave it just the way it is.

Was just curious if anyone did it.

In an air bag suspension, the air bags are the springs. Hard to put a shock in the middle of one.
