Trying to replace the mast on my 95 coupe. I have the kit.

Removed the nut but the old mast will not come out.

I can pull it up to full extension but it will not come out.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

You should have someone turn on the radio so that the antenna is trying to extend while you are pulling it out.

You really need two people to pull it out.

I finally gave it a more powerful pull and it did come out.

Sadly, not all of the cable was intact. Too much left in the motor so the new one will not fully engage. I guess I need to take out the motor now anyway to remove the cable.

So much for an easy fix.
