The new Mustang GTs are very nice cars. I'd be more than happy to park one of those "pigs" in my garage.

My buddy has an 07 Mustang GT with a 6 speed. It's a very quick car. I think it would beat my L98 car. The fact that I can even talk about an L98 hanging in with a new Mustang GT is a big compliment to the L98 cars.

And worth more than the nicest C4..

An '07 GT coupe, has an ACW (insurance) value of $20k, retail is $23k

I could buy 2-3 nice C4's from "C4s for sale" here for that much

Here is a photo I took a couple weeks ago of a friends supercharged Bullit at the track. It's brand new with an aftermarket Magnusen SC. It has not been dyno tuned since the supercharger install a few weeks ago. I think it ran a 13.140 if you look at the board real close. I know he was running mid to low 13s and before the SC low 14s to high 13s

This is a series of photos from staging to the line. click through the images to see the last one of the timing board.

My 1995 Vette LT1 and 2006 Base Mustang convertible (and me). I drive both and enjoy them. The Mustang is a 200 HP V6; it runs pretty good, has decent accelleration and can run fast enough to get speeding tickets on the interstate.

The Vette has better accelleration and top end speed but being 11 years older, lacks some of the refinements of the Mustang.

I enjoy both. I'm not brand loyal (as long as it's an "American" car - no Hondas for me); I hope to have a 2009 Dodge Challenger sitting with them next year.

I love Mustangs. Almost bought a new convertible last year but went with a CTS instead.

I smoked a stock 07 GT at the track last year by a couple ticks over a second, but I think he was just a bad driver. he ran a 14.8 to my 13.6 and my 94 6 speed coupe is stock with a K&N drop in filter.

The Mustang 8's have had documented engine problems. Notably spark plugs being blown out of the heads. Ford quailty is questionable.

i looked inside, and its really really nice, the salesman came back with the keys, started it and went away, and then i was really really impressed.-
It was an automatic, from the revs i heard,he put mid throttle or more, and the car got away really slow, but the revs were kind of high, with that RPM's my 87 would be sideways smoking the rear tires like an animal,i was really impressed with the lack of power i saw
yesterday,damn,what's going on here ? am i wrong ?

A late model C4 LT1 or LT4 will easily beat a newer GT.

This is the best time reported by a stock C4 other then a ZR1 by any magazine

1996 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport 4.7 13.3

My Mustang 06 GT has never ran slower then 13.1
