How Many C4's Top's Leak ?

You know mine used leak when I first got it at the a pillar corners. Drops when I went thorough the car wash every time. The weather stripping looked compressed, so I was sure I'd have to replace it. I cleaned it up good with some Simple Green, and coated the rubber with some dielectric grease and she's sealed ever since.
Still need to place it it because of a tear on the drivers side pillar, but it doesn't leak anymore.
I also make sure to install the top on a level surface and get all bolts hand tight down and then tighten the front first and rear last.

Top is off 95 percent of the time.
1985 Original weather strip, NO LEAK
just replaced with wilcox due to paint, NO LEAK
Its a very simple concept to fix a leaky coupe ! I would hate to see people scared to take thier tops off because they are scared of leaks. Mines always off, and when i had a c5 i didnt buy a z06 because i wanted the top to be off!

Never have had a problem with mine either. Have had the top off several times, and just make sure that is secured down when I put it back on. The only time it did was after I first got the car, and that was only through the passenger window, 
stupid me thought I would take it through the carwash, but its in the rain consistantly, and no problems whatsoever! Of course, I HAND wash it weekly now!

My 84 will leak only in a heavy downpour and even then it's a only couple of drops from the driver side top front corner. That's it. Original weatherstripping and the top is off most of the time in nice weather. Dielectric grease keeps the weatherstripping nice and soft.
Just never open the window when there's still a lot of water sitting on the top. First time you lean ito a corner you'll get about a glassfull of water pouring on your lap

Mine doesn't leak, but I have a new A piller gasket setting home that Im afraid to install because with my luck it will start right after I install it. WW

Owell, I just bought new GM weatherstrip for the front. Hopefully this will fix the prob. The ecklers one I installed 6 months ago sucks. I guess I'm lucky the rest of the Ecklers C4 kit doesn't leak on my car. The doors, back pillar, top sides, and rear hatch all seam to be made of the stock GM stuff. Only the front windshield WS was made of a hard rubber
