Why, you have drill your rear deck, and they didn't hold very much storage, you can buy a soft duffle bag that would fit perfect filling up back, but you need top up.

You certainly have had plenty of C4, I had one for 23 years, sort of miss it.
What I would do when traveling with the C4, I would ship care packages to each Motel I was staying at, and when ready to leave, pack up the box and send dirty cloths home. This way I always traveled light to put the top down and cruise.
Hope you are sitting down when you click the link...

Some great comments. I am working on a project and I simply want a luggage rack on it for appearance reasons only. I also have a hard top...the rear NEEDS "something"... they are just too long on the vert's. This car i have is a (cheap) project car, i don't care one bit if i drill holes in it. It's been repainted and has sanding scratches on the rear deck anyways. Normally I'm all about keeping my cars bone stock but I bought this car specifically to "make it my own".
I hope that makes sense, I do appreciate the advice though!

FYI, the nuts that hold the rack slats are not accessed from underneath. Don't know what they are actually called, but they insert from the top side and are captive there until removed.

Davies Corvette has the capture nuts if your luggage rack doesn’t come with them.

I patiently waited and managed to get a very nice one for an even nicer price.
I snapped a photo of the rack on the car (not mounted)....I really like them but I'm not 100% sold on the idea just yet...it's a big decision!!!

This would take some fabrication. I took the pics at the first Bloomington Gold show at Indy. I think it was Bowling Green's attempt to see how the C5 trunk would look.

Like you said, you want to make it yours. So, if ya like it do it.
Personally, I have never met a luggage rack that I liked on any car, and I think the "bare" rear deck looks the best, but it's NOT my car.
