Ya' just won't take my word for it will you. :D If you don't want to use that, use silicon grease. Also, GM sells this little itty bitty tube of weatherstripping goop for about $30 I think that is really good.

Try Sil-Glyde. Shud be available at most auto stores (dialectric grease). Don't know whats in it, but I don't think its related to anything with four legs, two maybe.

Re: (1MoorTym)
I've been using clear silicon for years on all my vehicles, I just make it a routine to go over all the weather stripping at each oil change. If you have never used it before, put a heavy coat on the first time and let it sit for a few hours then remove the excess, after that just a light wipe with a rag at every oil change and you should be good to go for the life of the car. :yesnod:

BMW produces a very nice product for weatherstripping - it's called Gummi Phlege. It comes in two forms, spray can and tube form. I use the tube form on my car. It can be ordered from any BMW dealership parts dept. Average cost is $8.00 per tube.
Excellent Stuff!! :yesnod:

Dupont makes a product for weather stripping, I believe it's called Krytox...like $32.00 for a 2 ounce tube. Suppose to be great stuff though!

Listen to everybody...but only use Krytox GPL-105(Krytox Oil) made by Dupont and distributed by miller-stephenson chemical company. GM buys it from them and then puts it in their own plastic bottle and puts their Goodwrench lable on it calling it "Weatherstrip lubricant"...GM part number 3634770...and sells it for twice as much as you can get it for from miller-stephenson...Go to website...WWW.miller-stephenson.com or call them at 416-675-3204. I ordered mine straight from them . Its "the only thing to use"...hardly anyone in the general public uses it cause they don't know about it and its one of GMs "little secrets" because Dealerships charge big money to apply it in their prep dept... :D... now you know "the rest of the story"...
