That's what I was thinking. I think it would look cool. Maybe then, have those wheels powdercoated black! Oh that would look sweet!

If he changed the color, thats what youll have. If the paint under is ok, not peeling or cracking, Its perfectly normal to paint over it. There is no need to remove the old paint to repaint it. I just bought a black 86, and painted it green, left the hoop black to go with tinted windows.

I've never seen those wheels in black, that would look awesome! Does anyone have any pics? Perhaps I have just figured out what to do to my stock wheels.....

If you want the black roof look..why not get a glass top?

I've got a great idea! Just scrape away some of the white and you can have red flames showing!

If you are going to do it, do it right, paint the sail panel\targa area black, and powdercoat your rims white. Dont worry about leaving the paint under it, its normal unless there is a peeling\cracking problem, the real issue is the color change. Did he do the engine compartment\firewall, doorsills, under the rug, etc? I would check to see if perhaps its just one panel replaced in an accident. Going from red to white is not so easy to disguise. The color change is where you will take the most depreciation. Check the codes\vin to see what color it was delivered from factory.

Thank you for the compliments on my car. I like the Collector Edition, but the LT4 is what excites me the most! I am an old fart and happily married; tell your woman she is safe. Too cold up there in Vancouver. :seeya

Re: ahhhh my cars all red under the white (dmalhi1)
Lots of people have been saying for years that all Corvettes are red....this is more evidence :smash:
Actually, I like white; the 35th suggestion is a good one. A previous owner painted the bar on my car black, and it was done very professionally....
