Default Flame Ball

I have a Flame Ball shifter **** that I bought for my GS but never installed. The GS is gone and I want to use it on a C5. Does anyone know if the threads are the same for the '96 C4 and the '04 C5?

Maybe Flame ball's web site or someone there can answer if you get no answers here.

That is interesting that you say it is different BlueWasp.. I have a red/white Flameball, used if interested I will take a pic of it for you

BOTH my 89 and my 90 have OEM C5 shift ***** in them on the ZF6. Both have hurst shifters, but the C4 **** works on them too.

So GSJimbo, to answer YOUR question YES they are interchangeable

I have a C5 **** with metal threads and it doesn't fit.

EDIT: JUst check hurst-shifters.com and it appears C4 and C5 have a thread size of 9/16-18.. I'll try my C5 **** again but I know it didn't fit and the threads aren't damaged.

Default C4/C5 Applicability

I just got this from the manufacturer:

If they screw off they are the same. In 2006 they started to make the shift levers with no threads. If you have this style you will have to get a spline mounted **** to fit.

Thanks,
