racer, i have a couple of questions....i know it is supposed to be flat, but can you wax it to keep the sun from damaging the flattened clear? after the base coat and flattened clear have been applied, do you wet sand it and buff it to make it smooth or do you just live with what comes out of the paint booth?

You hope like hell you don't get trash in it.. Otherwise, you live with the imperfections... wetsanding will gloss it up, yes.

for the past couple of years i have been into V-rods and alot of them have the denim paints. i would think that after the novelty wore off, that this paint scheme would become a pain to maintain. everytime some knucklehead at a cruise in touches it, you will know exactly where they did. and you will have to wash it to get it off. if it is anything close to the HD denim paint, you will be pulling your hair out because of how easy it is to scratch. on a glossy car, small scratches can be rubbed or waxed away, but on the denim paints, a simple fingernail can leave a lasting impression in the way your car looks.

The Vette's paint is much tougher than the denim paint on my Street Bob... but we'll see how it looks after some repeated washing (only washed the Bob twice now... I spot clean it with Windex - per HD)

Have you thought of adding some airbrush details to it? Like maybe fauxe rivets down the trim to mimic the stealth aircraft?

I can definitely appreciate all of the hard work that you put into that car, and don’t get me wrong I’ll be the first one to give you credit where credit is deserved and it’s definitely deserved, but first seeing the Matte Black C5 over in the C5 forum it’s hard to look at anything else being Matte Black!!
